Friday the 4th June Mallow A.C. host a 5k Park Trail in Doneraile starting at 7.30pm with a talk from Sonia O'Sullivan at the Springfort Hall at 9pm. Entry to the talk is only €5. For more details of the run and the talk, log on to www.mallowac.ie or www.ballyhouracountry.com.events |

As we draw near to the end of the Run Series I would just like to
thank everyone who participated in both the winter and spring run
series.
Next Thursday (June 3rd) sees another ULRC 5k and 10k run on campus,
starting and finishing at UL Boathouse.This is the penultimate one,
the final one being July 1st.
Registration is at 6.30-6.50pm. Race start is at 7pm. Entry is €3 for
students, €5 for non-students.
We look forward to seeing you all again.

Well done to all West Limerick AC runners who turned out to support the inaugural Newport 10k road race held yesterday. The day could only be described as a scorcher and the organisers appreciated the large numbers who turned up to support it -  Over 130 runners and almost 60 walkers took part
The competition was very strong with runners from clubs such as West Limerick AC, Limerick AC, Thurles Croakes, Limerick AC & Dooneen AC. Runners from various sporting backgrounds such as triathlon clubs, rowing clubs, rugby clubs and GAA clubs came out race. Lots of families turned out for the walk with some serious walkers among them.
First across the line was Dermot Kearns from West Limerick AC. Dermot came 2nd in the Great Limerick Run Marathon 3 weeks ago. Followed by Shane Mullaney Thurles Croakes and in 3rd position was Will Turner from County Club AC. The first local runner to cross the finish line was Mike Yelverton who came home in 6th position.
In the ladies category Liz Hussey West Limerick AC, was first home, Liz is fresh from her recent win at the Great Limerick Run Marathon. Tracey Roche from Newport and Doneen AC finished in 2nd position with Rachel Molloy in 3rd position.

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS KILFINANE - 2 MILE AND 4 MILE |

Well done to the newly formed Kilfinane AC on a well organised day at the County Championships yesterday. the race also included an open race to allow other runners to participate which added to the ocassion and to the numbers. the ladies race went off first and there were over 36 runners participating. It was also great to see a team from Kilfinane AC participating. Leading the way home was Rosemary Ryan of Bilboa AC, followed by Sinead O'Connor from Leevale in second place and Tracey Roche of Doneen AC in third. In the team event, West Limerick AC fielded a strong team and won the team event. Our team consisted of Carmel Mac Domhnaill, Deirdre Enright, Verena Tarpey and Bernie Barron.
In the men's section, 120 comepetitors lined up and  there was a battle up ahead between Michael Herlihy of North Cork AC and Labela Debeta of Limerick AC with the North Cork man winning out. Pat McCartan of West Limerick AC was in third spot. Well done to the men's novice team consisiting of Mike Cussen, David Richardson and Aogan Mac Domhnaill who won the Novice event and the cup.
Well done to all those from West Limerick AC who particpated. I don;t have the full results to hand yet but will publish once I do.
