A 10k, Half- Marathon or Marathon run involves consistent regular training and a balance of preparation and recovery. Limerick City Sports Partnership is organising this workshop with 6 weeks to race day as a final chance for recreational joggers in the 10k to marathon runners to improve for their event of choice. |

RESULTS OF ADARE 10K - PROVISIONAL RESULTS!! |

Fabulous weather contributed to a very successful 10k road race this afternoon in Adare. The race was won in style by Liam Reale of Limerick AC in a time of 31 mins 48 secs followed in second place by Paul Buckley. Labeta Debela was in third place. First West Limerick Runner home was Dermot Kearns in 8th place followed closely behind by Ger Guinoa in 9th. 
In the ladies event, Rosemary Ryan of Bilboa AC swept home in a terrific time of 36 mins and Tracey Roche, Dooneen AC in second place followed by Mary Sweeney (St Finbarrs). First West Limerick AC runner home was Fiona Burke. Well done FionaÂ
Well done to a large number of our newer club runners who competed today. Lisa Blackwell and Kathleen Blackwell performed really well and Bernie Barron ran the race with her daughter Natalie who ran her first 10k in a respectable 57 mins!!

KILLALOE PINK RIBBON RUN/WALK |

This is a charity event advertised in the Limerick Leader this week.
The Inaugural Killaoe pink ribbon walk will be held on June 19th 2010 in the beautiful villages of Killaloe/ Ballina, Co. Clare.The registration fee for the event is €20. To support the cause, each participant is requested to raise a minimum of €100 in sponsorship. Have a look at our FAQ section for fun sponsorship ideas! There is also the option of entering a team of 10 for a minimum of €750. We ask that the €20 be paid on registration and sponsorship money can be brought to the race number collection night on Friday June 18th at the Lakeside Hotel or on the day of the event.

Well done to all West Limerick AC athletes who competed in Castleconnel 10k on Sunday. The race was won by Labeta Debela and Dermot Kearns was our first athlete home in third place. They were followed closely behind by Joe Chawke,  Mike Cussen  and Paul Rice ( pictured above) Full results are available by logging on to www.castleconnell10k.com.

NEWPORT AC 10k run/6k walk 23rd May |

Sunday 23rd May at 2pm
Registration on the day from 12-1.30pm at the Newport Community Centre

Course: The walk takes you from the Communtiy Centre throught the town to the Clare Glens and back and the run is a loop past the Clare Glens on a 'rolling course' and back in to the Town via the Murroe road.Â

National Cross Country
Donal Murphy, Mike Mac Domhnaill, Carmel Mac Domhnaill and Aogán Mac Domhnaill competed in Boyle last Sunday in the National Masters and Intermediate cross country races.
While no medals were secured all four put in strong performances with Aogán Mac Domhnaill coming home in 42nd place out of a field of 120 in the Intermediate race. The course was on the beautiful Lough Key Park.

Race Meeting
The club will hold a pre-race meeting this Friday night at 8.30 p.m. in the Community Games venue in Rathkeale. There are still volunteers needed for junctions so we ask all supporters to contact Willie Costello in Adare or any club member.
The Adare 10k is on Sunday week, March 7th.

Castleconnell 10 k
There is a 10k race in Castleconnell this Sunday, February 28th, starting at 2.00 p.m.
We expect a good representation from the club to be present. Go n-éirà leo.
